Fall 2006 Haute Couture

This outfit presented the colors with analogous colour combinations. It illustrated the red-orange, orange and yellow in different shades. It also implied the principle of resemblance which basically states that colors harmonize more when the differences between them are less. Therefore this dress gives people an impression of harmony and comfort.

Same as the outfit above, this dress also features with an orange ribbon in the waist. The light gold color dress with the red-orange leggings show the contrast. That shocking red-orange colour of the leggings presents the principle of novelty as this new combination draws people attentions easily.

This outfit also use the analogic color scheme. The base color is red-violet and then plus two colors that adjacent on the wheel, which is red and violet. Those colors are high in value. To achieve the principle of order, which suggests that color should be based on an orderly plan, it applied the analogic colour scheme.

I think this outfit was quite unusual in Lacroix collections. This dress was combined with many sharp colours. These colours are in 1 hue basically, which is red . Therefore the dress implied the monoi-chromatic scheme, which is the scheme only use one colour (red) but change the brightness and saturation to achieve different shades and tints. As the pictures shown above, there are several kinds of red colors like shocking pink. Those warm colours with high chroma which means very shiny vivid and eye-catching. Same the previous outfits, there is an orange ribbon in the waist line.

As same as the Lacroix previous collections, he likes to use the black colour. The above picture shows the outfits that mainly or only compound with black. But Lacroix adjust the value and chroma of the black color to make the collection interesting.
